We had a magical day in Machu Picchu. We started early in the morning and were treated with a spectacular sunrise. We fell in love with the site, an ancient city perched at the top of a mountain peak, surrounded by mountains and valleys. We spent the entire day climbing through the ruins. We took our time and soaked up the ambiance of the city. Our exploration included a trip to the Inca Bridge, a narrow bridge perched on the side of a precipitous cliff. Just getting there was nerve racking as the path was also narrow with a straight drop to the valley floor, thousands of feet below.
We stayed until the last rays of the sun were touching the mountain tops and left as the sun set behind the mountains.
